Mid-winter Lotus Sutra Recitation Practice

Lotus Sutra Book RKINA altar

In the tradition of Rissho Kosei-kai, sangha members gathered in Irvine during the coldest time of the year to recite the Threefold Lotus Sutra. This mid-winter recitation began at 6:00 am each morning for ten days. As members chanted many pages of the Lotus Sutra, the morning darkness gave way to dawn.

This mid-Winter Sutra recitation practice has taken place throughout the world, at each dharma center. It is intended to clean energy and deepen understanding of the Lotus Sutra.

RKINA members recited the entire Threefold Lotus Sutra during the recitation held January 23rd through February 1st. All members renewed their vow for the new year.
